CovianHive Technologies develops products, services and initiatives across technology, education, creativity and innovation for individuals, businesses, institutions and communities.
Our story
CovianHive began from two personal motivations: the desire to create and the desire to build an identity that people could recognize and remember.
During university, technology and programming became an important part of that journey. The name Compiler also became an identity that many people around the university associated with the founder, and the original intention was to register the company as Compiler Corporation. When that name was not accepted during the registration process, the search for another registrable name eventually led to CovianHive Technologies.
As the idea developed, the motivation grew beyond creating something people would remember. It became a broader ambition to create products, services, technologies and eventually machines that could carry a Zambian identity into the world.
Today, that ambition guides CovianHive: to build original products, develop useful technologies, create opportunities, work with talented people and partners, educate and empower others, and continue exploring what can be created from Zambia.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Chalwe Silas
A Computer Engineer with a strong interest in building technology, creating original solutions and turning ideas into practical products. He provides the overall direction of CovianHive and leads the development of its products, services, research, educational initiatives and future growth.
Technical Associate
Eric Sakala
Eric has a background in Computer Engineering. He supports software development, engineering projects, technical documentation and graphic design within CovianHive.
Technical Associate
Emmanuel Mwaba Mwangata
Emmanuel has a background in Computer Science, with interests in backend development and cybersecurity. He supports software development, backend systems, cybersecurity related work and other technical activities within CovianHive.
